Marina Bay/CBD
Most of the action will be located in the Marina Bay area, including the annual F1 night race around the bay and parts of the city. This is where you can see Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, Singapore National Gallery, Asian Civilisation Museum, Peranakan Museum and the CBD area.

There are small eateries in nearby Sunshine Plaza and along Selegie Road. If you are feeling peckish, you must try Rochor Beancurd for breakfast or supper.
Upmarket hotels are located around Bugis such as Intercontinental and Andaz with its amazing view from its rooftop bar. There are also hostels in Kampong Gelam itself but it is not as convenient.

Chinatown
Chinatown used to be where most Chinese reside but gradually expanded to the rest of the island. It can be considered the real center of Singapore, and it is well served by public transportation. Amenities are easy to find, too, with Chinatown complex for more local offerings in terms of food and Chinatown point for your morning Joe and supermarket.
Most of the hotels are between Chinatown MRT and Clarke Quay MRT stations. Boutique hotels are located between Chinatown, Outram Park and Tanjong Pagar Stations. There are also hostels in the area but is considered a bit more expensive than those in Little India.
